United States shredded scrap prices remained flat again last week to finish at $382 a long ton (delivered mill).
Small levels of midmonth trades were heard this week at sideways pricing. However, talk is still of the US market currently being a healthy, balanced market, with both scrap supply and utilization being strong.
However, the significant volume of tonnage exported to Turkey via the East Coast this week could see strong price support heading into buy week for September, with many expecting pricing to increase.
