Imported Mongolian coal was scarce in recent days and quotations thereof varied.
From March 23, 2020, Mongolia started to reopen ports to export coal to China.
Affected by the pandemic, customs volumes are low. Most traders offer no quotation as sellable resources at ports are scanty. A minority of Mongolian (5#) raw coking coal is priced at 880-920 yuan/t, and Mongolian (5#) clean coking coal is priced at 1100-1200 yuan/t. Those resources quoted at a high price find no market and a few marketers are cautious but optimistic about the market in the future.
As supplies of Mongolia coal are to be relatively sufficient, domestic coking coal price will continue to fall, and price of Australian coking coal in North ports will plunge, and currently, quotations of Mongolian (5#) clean coking coal drops by 50 yuan to 1320 yuan/t, with price negotiable.
