According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, in February, the US’ rebar imports were about 103,000 tons, soaring by 155.3% month on month but decreasing by 17.8% year on year. Meanwhile, the import value amounted to US$ 61.9 million, a month-on-month increase of 131% and a year-on-year decrease of 31.1%.
Among them, Algeria was the main US’ rebar import source, with about 33,000 tons. The followings were Egypt (around 27,000 tons), Mexico (around 14,000 tons), Canada (around 8,600 tons), and Portugal (around 6,300 tons).
